Pulpo Pasión (Octopus Passion) returns to more than 90 restaurants in Madrid, Asturias and Valladolid

The VII edition of Pulpo Pasión will be held from June 16 to July 9. The presentations of the event will be on the 15th in Oviedo, on the 17th in Madrid and on June 19 in Valladolid.

  • Gastronomic experts will choose the best octopus dishes and tapas in this VII edition of Pulpo Pasión in Madrid, Asturias and Valladolid.

The Octopus Passion gastronomic route, which has already held 6 editions in Madrid, 1 in Asturias and 1 in Valladolid, reaches its seventh year of celebration to promote gastronomic tourism in these areas, boosting the hospitality sector and paying tribute to this admired cephalopod and to Galician gastronomy.

The presentation of this edition in Oviedo will take place on Thursday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m., at the Pulperia A Feira Gascona, in Oviedo, located on calle Gascona, 7 in Oviedo (limited capacity by invitation). During the event there will be an octopus masterclass by Paco Gómez, National Pulpeiros Award winner at the A Coruña Gastronomic Forum 2015.

The presentation in Madrid will take place on June 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Egun On de Barajas restaurant. (limited capacity with invitation)

The presentation in Valladolid will take place on June 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Espacio Ágora del Mercado del Val, Calle Sandoval s/n. (limited capacity with invitation)

This seventh edition of #OctopusPasion, is organized by the event organization and communication company, Nacho Sandoval Estrategias and Marketing, S.L, sponsored by Pagos del Rey and the collaboration of the Carballiño Council, FACYRE and ACYRE. All participating restaurants with their gastronomic proposals will be geolocated on google maps, creating an interactive gastromap.

For 24 days you can taste different proposals in the form of menus, tapas and dishes, both traditional and creative, with Octopus as the protagonist, harmonized with Analivia Verdejo selection, D.O.Rueda. Once again, the organization seeks to promote Galicia, synonymous with gastronomic excellence, specifically Carballiño, the birthplace of the "octopus a Feira", and its "Festa do Pulpo"

As has been done in previous editions, the organization will hold the "Best Octopus Dishes and Tapas in Madrid, Asturias and Valladolid" Contest among the participating restaurants. And it is that among the dishes and tapas to taste there will be both creations in the purest traditional style, type a Feira, as well as more creative dishes and tapas to surprise the diner. A jury made up of chefs and gourmet experts of national prestige will visit all the participating establishments, evaluating each proposal on a tasting sheet and determining which is the best octopus preparation in the innovative category, traditional category and the best pairing, which will have their corresponding prizes.

Customers who visit participating restaurants during the conference and share a photo of an octopus tapa or plate, along with a glass and bottle of Analivia selection on Pulpo Pasión's Facebook and Instagram, indicating the name of the establishment + #SorteoPulpoPasion, will participate in the DRAW OF 10 Magnum Bottles of Analivia Verdejo selection D.O. Rueda and 10 Wooden Plates Carballiño Octopus Festival. The winners will be known through the RRSS and will be contacted personally.
