TTI relies on Dachser to optimize the supply chain

  • Dachser

The power tool manufacturer TTI (Techtronic Industries Company Ltd) has relied on Dachser's services since 2010 to achieve flexible distribution chains on a global scale at all times. TTI generated more than $7 billion in revenue in the first half of 2022, an increase of 10% over the previous year.

TTI (Techtronic Industries Company Ltd), a manufacturer of treatment and cleaning power tools, has been using Dachser's services since 2010 to maintain flexible supply chains around the world at all times. The cooperation with the logistics operator has made it possible to optimize the supply chain in view of the growing number of TTI customers in recent years.

The growth of TTI means a solid and consolidated project. Despite the pandemic, and with the help of its logistics partner Dachser, the electronics manufacturer has overcome the challenge of continuing to supply its customers reliably. In the first half of 2022 alone, the company generated more than $7 billion in revenue, 10% more than the previous year.

Paolo Balloni, Vice President of Supply Chain Management EMEA at TTI sees growth as a unique logistics challenge, in which the reliability of partners is essential. “We expect absolute reliability and consistency from our logistics providers in terms of delivery efficiency,” he says. “Volatile markets, in particular, demand quick response times to setbacks, as well as support for unexpected business requirements,” he adds.

In Europe, Dachser and TTI first started working together in 2010, initially only with transports for the French market. “Step by step, we have expanded our collaboration to also include other European countries. Today, Dachser is the second largest provider of transport services in our EMEA network”, explains Balloni.

Tobias Rasch, Department Head of Supply Chain Transformation at Dachser, knows the TTI requirements inside out. “We have been accompanying TTI on its growth trajectory for many years, facing and overcoming each new challenge together,” he says.

Dachser, based on customer data, visualizes the current logistics structure and identifies ways to optimize it. "We built a model to develop scenarios on how best to apply process optimization in our network," explains Rasch. “Dachser's global network, with all its interconnected systems and experienced staff, gives us a wide margin to meet specific customer requirements,” concludes Rasch.

 Supply chains under pressure

“Enormous revenue growth, combined with the constant uncertainty of the last three years, has put a lot of pressure on TTI's distribution and transportation network,” Balloni says. “During this period, the expectation that deadlines will be met, deliveries on time and execution perfect, have become more and more pervasive in our industry. Therefore, in order to meet the changing requirements of our customers and markets, we had to make our supply chains correspondingly flexible and versatile. Dachser has helped us a lot in this regard."

Rasch explains that "the key lies in Dachser's new multimodal approach, which makes it possible to detect weaknesses in the supply chain and exclude old logistics structures that are no longer suitable for the provision of certain services in the face of geographical, political and economic changes." technicians that shape the current world".

Synergies for a more sustainable supply chain

"The problems that the world and the logistics market are currently facing do not exempt companies from their duty to limit environmental pollution, waste and emissions that are harmful to the climate," says Balloni.

When it comes to sustainability, TTI and Dachser are developing concrete and practical solutions side by side, for example to optimize supply chain consolidation, increase capacity utilization of trailers and containers, and reduce packaging consumption.
