The most important night in Hollywood, the Oscars

An event eagerly awaited by lovers of the seventh art, broadcast live in more than 200 territories around the world.

However, in other cities this ceremony was also celebrated with Academy members and partners. For example, in New York, it was held at the Mandarin Oriental, where the event began with a cocktail reception and a menu prepared for the occasion.

In London, the gala took place at The Dorchester, where attendees experienced the excitement of the live broadcast, from the arrival on the red carpet to the long-awaited announcement of the Best Film. The evening featured a menu inspired by the Oscars Governors Ball, the official celebration of the Academy after the Awards ceremony.

Meanwhile, the Academy Museum hosted the Official Oscar Party in Los Angeles. Those who attended received a gift bag from the Official Party and enjoyed a selection of light snacks accompanied by wines.

Hollywood's biggest night opened its curtain with a musical performance of the Best Picture nominee Wicked performed by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

Presenters on the night of the awards included Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, Oprah Winfrey, Emma Stone and Bowen Yang, among others.

The Oscar audience not only applauded the winners, but also the first responders of Los Angeles, in recognition of their hard work fighting the fires in the city.

The film Anora, nominated in six categories, won five statuettes:

• Best Actress for Mikey Madison
• Best Original Screenplay
• Best Editing
• Best Direction for Sean Baker

Other winners in acting categories include Adrien Brody in The Brutalist and Kieran Culkin in A Royal Pain.

Ainda Estou Aqui ("I'm Still Here"), directed by Walter Salles, triumphed as Best International Film, a first for Brazil.

In another historic milestone, Zoe Saldaña won as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film Emilia Pérez. When thanking for the recognition she said: "I am a proud daughter of immigrant parents with dreams and dignity and hard-working hands. And I am the first American of Dominican origin to accept an Academy Award, and I know I will not be the last."

Tributes

Doja Cat, BLACKPINK's Lisa, and RAYE paid tribute to the James Bond films by performing a medley of classic Bond themes.

Queen Latifah performed "Ease On Down The Road" in tribute to Quincy Jones.

The In Memoriam segment began with an image of two-time Oscar winner Gene Hackman. Also remembered were figures such as actress Maggie Smith, actor Dabney Coleman, John Amos, and other members of the film community such as Lourdes Portillo, Dick Pope, and Dianne Crittenden.
