Bodegas Emilio Moro presents the new vintages of its three most iconic wines, maintaining the objective of improving quality. The three Malleolus renew their image and wear a new label that pays homage to their origins.

Bodegas Emilio Moro, one of the most nationally and internationally recognized wineries in Ribera del Duero, renews the image of three of its most iconic wines, the Malleolus Family, with labels that pay homage to its origins.

The path of the Valladolid winery began more than 100 years ago and, since then, the world of wine and the Malleolus have been evolving, becoming a benchmark in the company and in the sector.

Together with this change of image, they present the new vintages of the three Malleolus that maintain the essence that has made them three benchmark wines in our country. The Moro family pursues the perfection of its products and these new vintages of its three references, Malleolus, Malleolus de Valderramiro and Malleolus de Sanchomartín, are proof of their efforts to achieve this, counting on grapes of unbeatable quality for their production.

"Our objective is to seek the highest quality of our wines and with the Malleolus family, we have achieved it", commented the president of Bodegas Emilio Moro, Javier Moro.

Malleolus 2020 is the new vintage of this historic red. An elegant wine, with a great personality and a perfect balance between maturity and freshness. With that characteristic cherry red color, Malleolus returns one more year to make us fall in love with its high quality and its great aromatic expression in which the aromas of black fruits stand out. This wine, aged in French oak barrels, leaves a voluminous and mature flavor in the mouth that lasts long after drinking it.

"Malleolus has the character of the grape and it develops right away," says the technical director, Álvaro Maestro, who has been associated with the winery for 18 years.

Malleolus de Valderramiro 2019 is the great Tinto Fino that returns with all its power, structure and great intensity. With a vegetative cycle characterized by low rainfall and high temperatures, this wine has been made with a balanced grape of extraordinary quality. The resulting wine has a powerful but balanced flavor that leaves a delicious memory in the mouth with its remarkable fruity vocation. With its distinctive garnet red color, Malleolus de Valderramiro 2019 will be the perfect companion to pair with a good roast.

According to Álvaro Maestro, this wine is "expressive, elegant and has seriousness in the fruit", and he is not afraid to confess that it is his favorite. “It is a wine that enters caressing and leaves kissing”, he has commented.

Malleolus de Sanchomartín 2019 is the Tempranillo wine born in Pago de Sanchomartín, located in Pesquera de Duero. A powerful, elegant and persistent wine that once again offers us a balanced flavor with certain fruity notes. With a pleasant and delayed, long and persistent step, this wine is the perfect companion for any great celebration or special occasion.

For Maestro it is the most elegant wine and although at the moment it is already an excellent wine, “the projection in the bottle is brutal”, he explained.

In short, three wines, three images, but the same essence.
New vintages, new image

The Malleolus have been, are and will be a symbol of elegance, delicacy and distinction. And to be in harmony with this new release, they are dressed in new labels. Maintaining their identity, they continue to wear their characteristic medallions, which have undergone changes in the color of their trim to accompany the capsules with the color of each Malleolus. A perfect combination between history and evolution.

For Bodegas Emilio Moreno, tradition is an irreplaceable value and, as a tribute to its history and its beginnings, these new labels include the signature of Emilio Moro as the first labels of the winery included in their day. Also, the position of the medallion recovers in a certain way the position it had at the beginning.

In addition, each of the Malleolus comes from a different type of soil, which gives them very different characteristics and peculiarities, a very important detail that is also highlighted on this new label.
