These data are reinforced by the statistics of Google Trends, which denote an increase of 73 points in the level of searches during the last five years. This shows that affiliate marketing has evolved favorably over the years, from its beginnings in the 1990s to the present day. In the early days, affiliate programs focused on generating clicks and visits to a website, but now they have adapted to a wide variety of platforms and business models.
