YAINFE recycling and Albia awards
Yainfe Recycling are the winners of the category “Best Innovation or Use of Technology that Contributes to Sustainability” in the 1st Albia Awards for Sustainability in the Funeral Sector.
LinkAlbia awards
YAINFE Recycling, a leader in comprehensive and sustainable waste management, has been awarded at the 1st Albia Awards for Sustainability in the Funeral Sector for its outstanding Comprehensive Sustainability Project. This recognition rewards its innovation and use of technology to address environmental, social and economic challenges in funeral services.
The funeral sector faces significant challenges in terms of sustainability due to the environmental impact of traditional practices, such as intensive consumption of natural resources, waste generation and emissions associated with cremations and embalming. YAINFE Recycling has demonstrated how an innovative approach can transform this industry through sustainable and circular economy solutions.
An innovative and transformative proposal
With more than 15 years of experience, YAINFE Recycling has brought its experience in recycling and recovery of materials, proposing a project that integrates advanced technology, sustainability and circular economy.
The Comprehensive Sustainability Project for which it has been awarded addresses the complete life cycle of materials and waste in the funeral sector from various perspectives, such as the manufacture of sustainable furniture and lighting, using recycled composites from wind turbine blades and advanced techniques such as 3D printing. In addition, the management of electronic and electrical waste is promoted through the recycling of funeral equipment, such as refrigeration chambers and embalming equipment, promoting the reuse of valuable materials and reducing the carbon footprint.
Another notable practice is the commitment to the manufacture of sustainable coffins and tombstones, using biodegradable and recycled materials that help reduce CO2 emissions and the overall environmental impact.
Impact and results
The implementation of recycled materials in production processes allows an estimated reduction of CO2 emissions of between 40% and 50%, in addition to significantly improving energy efficiency by saving up to 64% of energy compared to traditional methods. This development encourages resource conservation by minimising the use of virgin raw materials, promoting the reuse of materials such as fibreglass, plastics and resins. These efforts also drive the circular economy through advanced recycling, design and manufacturing processes that optimise the use of resources and give a second useful life to materials.
Recognition for sustainable innovation
YAINFE Recycling's proposal stands out for the revaluation of recycled materials from industries such as wind power, and their integration into products for the funeral sector, such as coffins and tombstones. This initiative not only offers sustainable solutions, but also encourages inter-sector collaboration and demonstrates the potential for scalability of these technologies in other industrial contexts.
A step towards a more sustainable future
The recognition of the 1st Albia Sustainability Awards underlines YAINFE Recycling's commitment to environmental, social and economic sustainability, and marks a milestone for the funeral sector. Their project demonstrates how technological innovation can transform an industry essential to society, ensuring a positive impact on the planet and communities.
