On March 20, #FabadaDay, World Fabada Day, is celebrated as the central act of the VIII Route of La Fabada and Las Verdinas. Like every year on that date, a solidarity stew is organized, which in this edition will be made at the Llagar de Viella (Carr. de la Estación, 33429 Viella, council of Siero, Asturias), by students of the CPEE Latores de Oviedo, with mental disabilities with diversity of associated conditions, and about 150 rations will be delivered to the Oviedo Economic Kitchen.

Donation to the NGO World Central Kitchen, by Asturian Chef José Andrés

The El Llagar de Viella restaurant offers all visitors a menu consisting of: Warm cod salad, Asturian bean stew or green vegetables with prawns, mille-feuille cake and everything harmonized with a Condado de Oriza at a price of €25.

To support the Asturian Chef José Andrés, of the 25 euros that the menu costs, El Llagar de Viella and the companies Pagos del Rey, Camín Astur and the organization itself will donate 8€ from each menu of La Ruta de la Fabada and the Verdinas tasted on March 20 at Peace & Food, the campaign that the NGO World Central Kitchen is carrying out on the border between Ukraine and Poland to feed people who are leaving the country immersed in a cruel war.

In addition, the more than 100 restaurants that have signed up for the 2022 edition that takes place from March 11 to 27 around the world can join this initiative.

This tribute to the Asturian bean stew and verdinas as dishes that are part of our culinary history and also of our future, is an important boost to the activity of the restaurant sector, organized by the events and communication company Nacho Sandoval Strategies and Marketing , and sponsored by Camín Astur and Pagos del Rey, with the collaboration of the Oviedo City Council, the Association of Hospitality and Tourism of Asturias, OTEA and Rialto Muscovites.

All the participants are geolocated on Google Maps, forming a digital gastromap with their data and gastronomic proposals that can be consulted through the web and through the official social networks of the Fabada Route; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The restaurants offer different menus whose main dish will be the Asturian fabada, fabes with stumbles or verdinas.

All the information about the participating restaurants and their elaborations are available on the website www.rutadelafabada.com and through the official social networks of the Ruta de la fabada; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
