Dachser strengthens its logistics network for the Life Science and Healthcare sector

Since the beginning of January, several offices in Dachser's global network have been awarded GDP certification, and others have renewed existing certifications. This means that the logistics provider meets the high requirements for the transport of pharmaceutical products in America, Europe and Asia.

Dachser has successfully renewed the GDP (Good Distribution Practices) certification, a seal of quality recognized by the life sciences industry, at its offices in Madrid, Barcelona and Frankfurt, as well as its headquarters in Kempten (Europe), in Atlanta and Chicago (USA), Mexico City (Mexico) and Campinas (Brazil). In addition, the office in Mumbai, India, successfully passed the audit and in October 2024, the facilities in Shanghai (China) and Hyderabad (India) also received the certification.

With this certification, Dachser meets the strict requirements for a logistics partner in the transport, storage and handling of products from the life sciences and healthcare sector. Through its specialized solution DACHSER Life Science and Healthcare Logistics, the logistics operator combines its expertise in the healthcare sector with standardized logistics services, enabling it to offer its customers uniform and secure supply chains.

In Iberia, Dachser manages logistics for these types of products to any part of the world, with professionals specialized in merchandise management under strict GDP requirements.

High demands for demanding products

"With the latest GDP compliance certifications, we are continuing the certification process for our strategic locations for the life sciences and healthcare sector around the world. In the future, all Dachser offices involved in the transport or storage of these products will gradually receive GDP certifications," explains Netka Hohlfeld, Department Head Life Science and Healthcare at Dachser.

The audits, carried out by an independent entity, assess quality aspects in handling, storage and transport procedures taking into account the legal specifications that life sciences and healthcare products must comply with, as they are temperature- and time-sensitive shipments. External and internal staff training processes and risk management are also analysed.

Dachser's Atlanta, Frankfurt, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Shanghai sites also have the IATA CEIV Pharma certification, which together with the GDP certifications represent a seal of quality in the sector.
