The logistics Dachser Iberia, provider of logistics services for the chemical sector, has renewed its SQAS accreditation for transport services in the Barcelona North delegation.

  • Once again, Dachser complies with the highest standards in terms of quality, safety, prevention of occupational risks, the environment and Corporate Social Responsibility, demanded by the chemical industry from its transport providers.
  • The result obtained in the renewal of the SQAS accreditation questionnaire has been 91%, this being one of the highest percentages achieved in Iberia.

Dachser Iberia continues in its challenge to achieve a leadership position as a provider of logistics services for the chemical sector, by renewing its SQAS accreditation for transport services in the Barcelona North delegation (Santa Perpetua de Mogoda). The SQAS accreditation, created by the CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council) to develop trusted collaborations throughout the chemical industry supply chain, consists of a system of uniform evaluations, carried out by third parties, to determine the performance of manufacturers, logistics service providers and chemical distributors.

In 2016, after passing a rigorous audit, the logistics multinational obtained its first SQAS accreditation in Iberia in the Barcelona North delegation, considered one of the entry and exit doors of goods in the chemical sector within the European Dachser network. In order to retain the recognition that is valid for 3 years, in December 2020 Dachser has proceeded to the re-evaluation of its transport services. And, once again, compliance with the highest standards in terms of quality, safety, prevention of occupational hazards, the environment and Corporate Social Responsibility has been verified, for the benefit of manufacturers and distributors of the chemical sector in the area. In this renewal, the Dachser Barcelona Norte delegation has obtained a 91% in the SQAS evaluation questionnaire.

Ernesto Castellà, General Manager Catalonia & Balearic Islands of Dachser, highlighted "the renewal of the SQAS Assessment in Barcelona confirms our commitment to add value to our customers in the chemical sector". With a specific solution for this sector, DACHSER Chem-Logistics, the multinational transport and logistics company has a very good base to support the growth of the chemical industry in Spain.

Currently, in addition to North Barcelona, Dachser Iberia also has SQAS accreditation in its Valencia and San Sebastián branches, two of the main branches in Iberia in the traffic of chemical sector products. Dachser's global transport and warehouse network currently has 27 SQAS delegations located in Europe and 254 global safety advisers, accredited professionals in the logistics management of dangerous goods, located throughout the network and available to advise companies in the dangerous goods handling sector.

About SQAS accreditation

The SQAS accreditation is born from the will of companies in the chemical sector, channeled through the European organization CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council), to have a transparent process ensuring the excellence of their logistics service providers, and consists of an evaluation objective by an independent third party. In addition, external evaluators accredit companies with the help of a standardized question catalog. The results of this audit are published on the CEFIC website. In this way, any company can consult the SQAS assessment of its logistics provider.
