Dachser expands its daily connections between Madrid and Valencia with two duo trailers

  • Dachser duo trailer.

The German logistics multinational Dachser has launched two new duo trailer units for the Madrid-Valencia-Castellón links. In this way, the capitals of Madrid and Valencia, which were already connected with several "Round Trips", will expand their daily connections.

The needs of road transport do not stop multiplying. To respond to this growing demand, the German logistics multinational Dachser is launching new routes with duo-trailer vehicles, which will increase daily connections between the center and the east of the peninsula. Within this great logistics project, Dachser has announced that it will expand its daily connections between Madrid and Valencia with two duo trailers.

The duo trailers used by the logistics operator combine two semi-trailers and a tractor unit and aim to optimize freight transport operations by allowing a greater volume of cargo on the same route.
In addition to the existing routes, it is expected that new routes will be launched in the coming months, following the same scheme.

The duo-trailer model that Dachser has chosen to make this ambitious logistics project a reality is made up of two "traditional" 13.60-meter semi-trailers and a tractor unit. This results in duo trailers with a total length of 31.70 meters and with the capacity to transport up to 44 tons of weight.

The use of these large vehicles for these routes represents a commitment by the logistics operator for more efficient and sustainable logistics. In fact, the German multinational began using the first duo trailers a year ago, in November 2021, and already then, Celestino Silva, Dachser's Managing Director European Logistics Iberia, expressed his desire that the use of this type of vehicle begin to generalize, since they allow a better service to be provided and, at the same time, to reduce emissions, by needing to mobilize fewer trailers to transport the merchandise.

Long-term climate protection strategy

Dachser's long-term climate protection strategy is based on efficiency, innovation and inclusive responsibility. The initiatives of the logistics multinational are aimed at the efficiency of logistics processes, energy savings and technological innovation. Dachser believes that this is the best way to limit GHGs in line with the goals set by the Paris Agreement, to keep global warming below 2ºC, as well as the climate protection goals of the European Union and many other countries. To do this, the company collaborates with its customers and service partners, who are also willing to actively influence the evolution of logistics to adopt low and zero emission technologies. Employees are also closely involved in climate protection activities, showing a commitment to society and social issues that goes beyond Dachser's own direct business interests.
