This summer, the sky comes alive in the heart of Extremadura!
The UNESCO Global Geopark Villuercas-Ibores-Jara will host the first edition of ASTRODISEA, a unique festival that celebrates the magic of the universe beneath one of the darkest and most spectacular skies in Europe.
Over 10 star-filled nights, visitors will enjoy an unforgettable astronomical experience:

Star Event – 15 July in Berzocana
The STARLIGHT Evening in the charming village of Berzocana will be the highlight of the festival:
- Complete switch-off of public lighting so the sky can shine in all its glory
- Talks and presentations by astrophysicists and astronomy experts
- Tapas and networking for professionals in the sector
- A live show on stellar mythology
- “Deep Space” exhibition
A magical night where science, culture and nature unite under the stars.
Villuercas-Ibores-Jara: A new Starlight Destination
This July, the Geopark will officially receive its Starlight certification,
recognising the exceptional quality of its night skies and establishing the region as a leading destination for sustainable astrotourism in Europe.
